Codeine....Bourbon.

8 years.
8 years of what could be considered the first foray into the preeminence of social gaming. The Xbox, the largest brick of electronics ever made (I could be exaggerating, but the internet tells me different.) is ending it's run of LIVE enabled service as of today. Gone are the days of Halo 2 Super Jumping. Gone are the days of playing regular Ghost Recon without all the fancy doo dads and gizmos. Playstation 2 had some kick ass games (SOCOM and GTA and MGS2/3 and a whole mess of other games), but without a centralized online system, the Xbox soon became a fan favorite (Halo 2 had nothing to do with that, at all, not in any possible conceivable manner.)
Today, we remember a gaming platform that was renowned for it's gaming experience, and loathed for it's size. Can't say this console was the one I had to have, but it was a heck of a fun time to log on and play random games of Halo 2.
To the Brick, we salute you. May you rest easy knowing that the other console is not nearly as dependable.
