The Hangover

For the members over the age of 17, and to all of our readers (basically said members), I highly suggest you see this movie.  Sure, it looked like a normal "college" kind of comedy.  It is exactly that, but boy howdy, the production values have been upped to ensure that the movie was not only funnier then anything National Lampoon has been throwing out over the past few years (Im pretty sure the only good movie they've released in the past 10 years is Van Wilder...)

Imagine if you will, the kind of wasted that can only be attained by excessive drinking, coupled with other flavors of mind altering devices.  Imagine that every single thing that could happen, does.  Imagine that you are in college, trying to attain the most badass night of your life.  You will not be able to even get close to this.

So, what makes this one better?  It's just as you would imagine.  Dudes go out, get hammered, wake up to some crazy stuff that they have no recollection of.  This movie does some stuff you haven't seen in similar movies.  That still doesnt give this one a higher rating.  What does give this movie a higher rating is Zach Galifianakis.  He plays the bride's brother.  He is perhaps one of the funniest dudes I have ever seen in a drunken comedy romp.  I cannot stress this enough.  He...defies what being an adult is.  Each and every new situation, he sits and laughs at it.  His idiocy goes beyond the normal acceptable limits, pushing it past full blown childish ignorance towards balls-out stupidity.  Is it obnoxious?  Hell no.  We all want to react to such a dire and pathetic situation with such calm and vigor.

I'm almost assured that this movie is so popular because the actors react to their situation as every single drunken frat boy would.  It's great watching it occur at any given sunday morning at the house, but to be part of it, most guys freak out.  These guys, hell no.  They see the glory that they have created, and relish in it.  To them, Vegas has been conquered.

Oh, and those last few seconds of the movie....hahahhaha, wow.

Is this movie a visual creation of something truly beautiful?  Hell no.

Is this movie something that is really funny and just way to over the top while still maintaining it's composure?

Damn Skippy.

Go see it.
