I may be the only one, but I love the F-35. Sad to see it following the Raptor's fate.
I'm not a fan of the plane myself, but i don't want to cut things that will keep our pilots safe that is for sure.
Lame, I was really excited the JSF was soon to be put in service the way it was. But now that they removed key components in keeping the pilot safe from being hit by a missile, is kinda disappointing.
I was excited about the JSF too...but ya know...all these cuts, and more and more countries are taking strides to push our buttons (north korea, china...russia).

But hey lets just take the good ole american thought process and just believe we are ok with what we got and that we are a superpower........apparently our current government officials have forgotten about 9/11......or WWII or I...

To me it first started with the Comanche, then the Raptor, now the JSF....next up they will say we dont need the A-10 or F-15s anymore.....rediculous!
I sure it easy shot down because of weak body to design stealth reason..... Even it can torn bad by aa gun.
Gettin hard to find A-10 parts.
We still have enough power in the air to be a super power with the current fleet of aircraft we have but we need to make better decisions on what is going to be replacing these current day fighters.
Because we cant exactly take out SU-35BMs and TU-50s with standard F-15s.....unfortunatly. Although I believe we could save money and invest in F-15SEs, non import versians of course; it pains me to think of everybody but us flying suped up Eagles Sad

Your right about the standard Eagle not being able to hold it's own against these Russian aircraft but the Eagle isn't the only Fighter the USAF has in service.

Just because they halted the production of the Raptor does not mean we have 0 in service and combat ready. As of right now the estimated number of Raptors built and in service is around 150+. And I truly believe the 22 could hold its own against the Sukhoi 35 and T-50.
The plane is only as good as its pilot and as remains with Russia their pilots never get enough flight time. The Pak Fa will literally see maybe 35 hours of flight time in the next 6 years.
